The Beverentunnel is in need of modernisation. This is why we execute a complete renovation. We make alterations to the structure and supply systems, while getting the tunnel ready to meet the energy- and climate-related challenges of the future.

• Since April 2024 we conduct preliminary work on the diversion route. 
• The renovation has started on Sunday evening 14 July 2024. The Beverentunnel is closed for traffic heading towards Ghent for one year and a diversion will be in effect. You are still able to drive through the tunnel in the direction of the Netherlands.
• If  all runs smoothly, the renovated tunnel will open in late summer 2025. 
• We will conduct some more safety tests as of August 2025.
