Closures and security at E40 motorway parking areas In recent months, the drivers of heavy goods vehicles on the E40 motorway heading towards France and the United Kingdom have been confronted by refugees trying to board their trucks illegally. A number of measures have now been taken to ensure the safety and security of the truck drivers. The number of long-term areas where HGVs can park has been reduced and those areas intended for long-stay, overnight parking are now better protected. Please take these changes into account when planning your route. Parking on the emergency hard shoulder is expressly forbidden!
